universal studios

went to universal studios with j and i had a really good time even though i only rode three rides. the transformers 3D ride and the battlestar galatica rollercoaster rides, both human (blue) and cylons (red).

went around 10am+ and queue for the transformers ride first. the transformers ride is awesome! it's a new attraction at universal studios and LOTS of people were q-ing for it. luckily for j and i, we only had to wait an hour or so for our turn. his brother and his gf had to wait 2 hours+. crazy ><

i don't know whether there is still a long queue for the ride now but my advice would be to go there early in the morning around 10am+ and quickly queue for it first.

j with the car he hopes to buy when he goes to america. vrooom~~~

for the battlestar galatica rollercoaster rides, you're not allowed to have your bags or any loose items on you so you have to store them in the lockers provided. don't worry about paying though, it's free for the first 60 mins i think, depending on the wait time for the rides. if the wait time is longer, then the free locker period is longer. if you don't want to queue for both rides, go on the cylons ride. you can skip the humans one, it isn't that great.

for lunch, we went to godilocks in far far away. the fried chicken is really nice and crispy. the spicy thai flavour is way nicer than the original. do not order the mashed potatoes as a side! they are horrible! go for the coleslaw instead.

there are drinking fountains around universal studios, so if you wanna save on buying drinks, bring your own bottle and you can fill 'em up. we brought our own and accidentally left it at godilocks. d'oh!

hello. im back in brunei.

i finally decided to blog but my mind is a blank.

i came back on the 26th dec and spent about 2 weeks in s'pore at j's place. as much as i love the shopping in s'pore, i really cannot stand the crowds and the queues!!!! that said, i bought quite a lot from s'pore and im leaving for kl on the friday with my cousins for 4 days. more shopping yes? yeeeessss!!

aside from the shopping i did there, i also went to universal studios and singapore flyer. i only rode on the transformers ride and the battlestar galatica rides (both human and cylon).

j also came back with me to brunei on the 26th and went back on the 2nd =((((

he lit his first fireworks and was very happy about it. there is a video capturing his uhrm.... "excitement" but too bad it's on his iphone! grrrrr..... so would have to love post that video up ><

i was supposed to blog about this weeks ago but i kept forgetting =.=

anyway, when my dad and mom came to perth, we went to caversham national park to see the kangaroos and koala bears =D plus all the other aussie animals.

just gonna spam with lots of photos we took there.

did you know that joeys (baby kangaroos) are place in their mama's pouch so their legs are sticking out from the pouch instead of their head?

omg. joeys are so cute and so wide-eyed. it seems like the older kangaroos are more squinty.

weird looking bird that made the strangest and loudest sound.

mum's last day

it was my mum's last day in perth yesterday and we had lunch at this lebanese restaurant. it wasn't bad except for the salad which is 90% parsley. yuck! hate parsley.

mum's flight was at 7.40am so had to be at the airport really early. no teary goodbyes though we all did get a bit teary. mum had the most noticeable teary eyes followed by nora and by me. the last time she left from perth, mum and nora cried. i didn't. ooooh yerrrhh.....

mum marinated a lot of chicken (4kg) and beef (6kg), korean style. yum! had bulgolgi for dinner. dinner felt really different without mum here.

mum got me this rosary from korea. im not a catholic or christian. guess it's her way of giving me a safety amulet or like a chinese fu.

wrote down the recipes for korean dishes. im gonna try cooking them for j when he comes to perth ^^

excuse the bad handwriting but i had to rush to write it cause my mum talked really fast >< lots of typos.

this post is way overdue. my graduation was on the 15th september. 2 weeks ago.

anyhoo.....

graduation.

bah! i didn't really think much of it until i was in the hall and it suddenly hit me that i was going to graduate. officially graduate from uwa. *tears* nolah. i didn't cry la. wtf. nora did.....from boredom =.=

the graduation itself was pretty okay. not too boring but not very eventful. im so glad that my dad and mum came for it. oh AND nora. i am also very glad that cookie and jojo were able to make it even though they were late BUT they still came. thank you guys ^^

when i received my certificate, in my head i was like "THIS is the most expensive piece of paper i have ever own". the certificate is worth AUD$xxxxx times 7 semesters. not to mention expenses like rent, utilities, groceries and personal stuff. now i know why so many people want to frame it up.

green for faculty of science or in my case, faculty of natural and agricultural science, which is like a sub-faculty under science.

fail max. bloody stupid hood wouldn't stay up. i didn't understand how everyone else's hood was just fine until i realised they bobby pinned it to their robe =.=

can you see the pink hood in the back? that's for business. bloody lot of business students. ratio of science students to business students is 1:5.

i reckon my hair has finally reached its limits. it feels so dry and grassy now.

i just have this overwhelming urge to chop it all off and grow my hair back again but it took me so long to grow it out. why can't my hair be super resistant to hair dyes? ><

i have done this before but i tied my hair up to see how i will look with short hair.

pardon the stupid look but this was the best photo from the front.

i know lah. they all pretty horrible. they obviously don't look natural but bear with me, i don't know how to fake short hair.

j suggested that i smiled more with my teeth. i took a bunch of photos and from the photos, i don't think i will be doing that anytime soon.

im really not used to me smiling with my teeth.

oh. watched transformers 3 today and it was a pretty good show. i didn't think it would bother me but i didn't really like the girl. i would have prefer megan fox to be in the movie. i felt like they were trying really hard to show how perfect and hot she is and why on earth was she always wearing white? oh and patrick dempsey was such an asshole in the movie which made me really sad cause i really like him! to see him play such an awful character is really too-too heart wrencthing T^T

it's an eye opener, i promise you that. i wanna go to the DMZ one day just to have a look. my mom brought us to the place where you can get into the DMZ but we didn't go in. my mom prolly thought it wasn't appropriate for us to go since we were still young but i did see north korea through one of those huge binoculars that are cemented to the ground.

oh and i had my ielts test today. i DON'T wanna talk about it.

this is going to be a bit of a rant.

i am stressing out just a bit about my ielts test on saturday. okay who am i kidding. i am stressing out to the max! *pulls hair out*

it's been a long time since i have had an english test and like i really need to score well. i think, in general, my english is pretty good. i mean i do make the occasional grammar mistakes but overall, i reckon im pretty fluent in english and my vocabulary isn't too bad.

i went through the format of the exam so i know what to expect but as for the contents, it can be anything i guess but the silver lining in all of this is that im sitting for the general training ielts test which is easier than the academic one but it does not mean that i should relax in any way. a test is still a test and i should take it seriously.

there are four parts in the test: listening, reading, writing and speaking. im pretty okay in all three except writing cause it has been a loooong time since i wrote an english composition. i know i do write a lot of reports but i reckon it's kind of different from writing a composition. i just hope that whatever topic that comes out is something that im familiar with. i have to pay extra attention for the listening test cause if i miss anything, i lose a mark! it's so easy to get a mark but at the same time, easy to lose a mark as well.

freaking oooouutttt. i got a b for english in o levels but that was like, what, 6 years ago. omg, i feel so old now =(

might be going again this weekend cause nora missed out last week and she said she wants to go. i used nora's iphone to take this cause my iphone literally died on me. i have no idea what happened. yes her cover is cute.

i have to praise apple's customer care! i booked an appointment with apple's genius bar even though i had zero hopes in fixing my iphone. i just went for the sake of trying. who knew they would be able to swap it for me for $109. i literally wanted to jump for joy right there in the store. so happy ^^

anyway i have a brand new iphone. yay! for all those iphone users who are unlucky enough to come across the 1002 error, like i did, i highly suggest that you go to the genius bar. chances are that they are able to swap a brand new iphone for you.

oh and i find apple's way of calling their technicians hilarious. each of them are called "genius". it says so right there on their "dog tags", right below their names.

why are my exams scheduled so late!? i would totally rather have one exam in the first week of exam period and then the another in the second week of exam period cause then i can focus on one first and then on the other one. BUT both of my exams are scheduled on the second week of exam period. so i have to study both of them at the same time and im really afraid i will forget.

i can remember details about my favourite book but not details about my uni stuff.

it's weird lo. when i ask myself what did i just studied, i can't recall anything and then i panicked cause it's like why the hell can't i remember. but thank goodness, i can recall them when i looked thru some of the exam questions though i always have trouble remembering the right terms and stuff ><

and it's really frustrating when i can't remember the correct term cause i know what it is and i know what it does but just can't put them into words!

thought i would update my blog in the midst of exam preparation.

with graduation nearing soon, well it's actually in september but after the 22nd june, im officially done with uni.....for now. who knows i might pick up studying again in the future?

anyway i was saying with graduation nearing so, i had one of those what's-my-next-move-in-life moments. i thought about how i might be applying for pr in australia. as of now, i am still unsure whether i am eligible but im meeting a migration agent to discuss about my options again, just to be clear. i know it's pretty late for me to be doing this but it's my fault. i kept avoiding the issue and lately my posts seem to revolve around visas and what-not. gah! ><

and if i can't, my back-up plan which doesn't seem like a good back-up plan but better a bad back-up plan than no back-up plan. plus i have a back-up to my back-up plan just in case my first back-up plan doesn't work out. if all doesn't work out, i might just go back to brunei and work a couple of years and try my 1st back-up plan again. of course, i hope that i won't have to resort to my back-up plans. i really do want this australian pr. it has been my goal ever since i started uni here but ever since the SOL changed, it is a tad difficult for me to obtain now. my options are pretty limited but first thing to do would be to extend my visa as im eligible for that. wooo!

im still working on my last assignment and i reckon im doing well so far. i still have one more question to answer so i thought i will take a 15 minutes break and blog.

it seems odd that i blog much more often when i have troubles or when i have exams coming up, most likely cause i use blogging as an excuse to not study but im still gonna study *determined*

i had this awful dream. in the dream, it was the day before exam and i kept telling myself that im gonna study but i never did. the next day, i totally panicked during the exam but then i wasn't in the exam hall. i was in the lecture theatre, rushing to finish a powerpoint presentation that im supposed to hand in at the end of lecture.

super worried about what to do after graduation.

stay in australia and get a pr? don't stay in australia?

it would be so much simpler to decide if geologist was on the SOL cause then i would be "APPLY FOR PR. YAY!"

BUT it's not so now i have three options. apply for a graduate temporary visa and pray (really really hard!) that geologist goes back on the list which i seriously doubt will happen. it was taken off the list when i was in SECOND year of uni. that's like THREE years ago and it's still not back on the list yet so what are the chances that it will get back on the list? maybe the SOL people would think "hmmm.... we gave geologist a good rest. it has been three years plus i do so enjoy those geology jokes. what say we put it back on the SOL, ey mate?" i would LOVE them if they do that. lol.

the other two options are not likely to happen as i have to either be nominate by a state something or sponsor by a employer. im already worried about finding a job after graduation. now have to worry about applying for australian pr too! ><

dad told me not to worry and take my time to think about what to do after graduation but things like visa and what-not doesn't really give me the time to think. they have like all these "rules" and requirements AND a time frame within which you have to apply for the visa, if not, BAM! no visa for you *wags finger*

i know i have already decided to apply for a temporary visa and all but still! im worried and it keeps me up at night, not to mention i have to worry about exams now and some other stuff, which i won't go into cause they are kind of......*trails off*

ANYWAY, for the temporary visa, i have to take the IELTS test and score at least a band 6. what if i don't get a band 6? there are four parts to the test. speaking, writing, listening and..... one more but i can't recall now. i haven't study english ever since A levels. GP still counts as kind of an english subject right? GP is general paper but don't think we care a lot about grammar and stuff. mostly did stuff like research on certain topics, essays and debates. well not my class anyway. my GP teacher wasn't as "active" as the others and we didn't really do much at all. still i got a B in GP for A levels. Woooo~~! and i didn't even read as much articles as the other classes did. Wooooo~~!! sure they got an A but i got a B without doing all that work. what can i say? im awesome =D

i can't study for it now cause i have exams! which means i am only able to study for the IELTS test after my exams and there is this thing about skills assessment which i have no idea what it means but basically, from what i read, they have to assess my skills and check on my background or something. not too sure. i have been looking thru a lot of websites and they keep linking me to another page which links me to another page and it goes on and on and on AND THEN it brings me back to the first page that i started on.

like what.the.f. =.= zzzzzz

even when i was registering myself for the IELTS test, i have to search the websites and call to make sure i was registering for the right test. the whole process is so much more confusing than when i was applying for my student visa, which i thought, at the time, was the hardest thing to do and i also had to call and text a lot of people to make sure my application was complete so it doesn't get rejected. i learned from it and when i was told i had to apply for a temporary visa, i was like "pppsshh, i did it once before. how hard can it be?"

stupid lo. it keeps me up at night and i have to get up tomorrow morning to go to uni and finish my last assignment for the semester but i can't sleep! so here i am, ranting about it on my blog!

i was having my exams when i got this blister and i had it bandaged and stuff so people wouldn't be gross out by it BUT the bandage kept coming off cause of my sweaty palms. so i had to like lightly make a fist in order to keep the bandage on.

one of the examiners thought that i was cheating off a paper and asked to see what was in my hand. hahaha! the look on her face when she saw my blister was priceless! she literally went UGH!

spent the whole day looking through the australian immigration website, trying to figure out/decrypt the requirements and what not.

i reckon the website is slightly cryptic? nah. prolly not to that level but there was a LOT that i didn't understand as i have never done any visa-related business ever aside from renewing my student visa earlier this year and i had problems figuring THAT out. other than that, zero experience.

it was all quite confusing and i spent a lot of time on the phone, making enquiries.

hopefully, if i spend enough time reading and re-reading the website, i might just understand the gist of the whole visa situation thing.

still no news from my mum's husband and i still can't call her so yesterday i finally called my grandma or what i call her halmoeni.

i was hoping to avoid calling my grandma cause i cannot speak a word of korean and she doesn't know english so you imagine how our conversation went.

i used google translate....A LOT. it helped a bit but the problem is that i get the pronunciation wrong. in the end my grandma did all the talking and i just answered. though i can't speak korean, i still am able to understand it. not very well but enough to understand what my grandma said to me.

apparently, my mum went to america and she did not tell me at all =.=

my grandma said that she is coming back on the 14th. i am so gonna give her a long lecture about not telling me about it and making me worried. in short im gonna be her and nag at why she didn't call me and she is going to be me, listening, which is what i usually do. seriously lo, she gets super sad when she finds out that i went overseas without telling her. the irony =.=

she then went on asking whether im still in perth, whether nora was still in perth, when i was coming to korea again, the usual stuff that grandmothers ask.

i seem to always go back to having red hair all the time. i've tried various shades of brown and even blonde (never again) but everytime i dye my hair a certain colour, i always want to dye it back to red. i don't know. i think it suits me better than any of the other colours *shrugs* it's just me.

this time i have really RED hair. i have never had such a bright red ever. all the other times was just red hair but this is RED RED hair.

taken with my iphone under natural sunlight (?). it's so much redder irl and it's sort of have a pink-ish tone to it.

to be honest, i got the shock of my life when i washed off the dye cause it was so much redder and brighter than i expected and i was not used to it at all but i got used to it by the time i got home. talk about adapting fast and now i love it <3

here are a couple more shots of my hair taken with photobooth under light (table lamp).

compare this with the other photo. see how much redder it is? but honestly it doesn't really capture the red-ness but it's close.

look here. i swear the top looks more pink/purple-ish.

the red is really extreme and i prolly won't get to dye my hair in such an extreme red once i start working or i might get lucky and the office dress code won't be strict or maybe i won't get a job (CHOY! TOUCH WOOD A MILLION TIMES!).

for now im gonna embrace the red =D

went to uni today to study but i couldn't concentrate at all. i kept re-reading the same sentence over and over again and it wasn't even a hard sentence. frustrating >< hopefully tomorrow will be better.

i finally bought opi's black and silver shatter.

i have been dying to get my hands on these and i love it. i prefer the black shatter cause it shatters more than the silver one. the black shatter has a matte finish and the silver shatter is super shiny.

also bought not like the movies and teenage dream from opi's katy perry collection. i wish i could have gotten them all but they are super pricey for a bottle of nail polish ><

i love how the combination of teenage dream (base) and black shatter (top) turned out.the photo does not do it any justice. it is so much prettier irl.

im thinking of getting a couple more from the pirates of the caribbean collection to go with the silver shatter. i have the opi app to help me decide but it's just making me wanna buy all of 'em! ><

i am gonna graduate in a few months and a lot of decisions have to be made by then.

like whether or not i am gonna further my studies which frankly i don't feel like doing at all but it seems the "norm" to go ahead with honours but won't it be a "waste" if i don't have the drive to do it? it scares the freaking hell out of me. what if i don't do honours and can't get a job cause all i have is a degree which honestly doesn't seem to count for much nowadays. yes it's much more worthy than a diploma but the world is such a competitive place now and i don't have the energy to compete with 1463642734836437 other people for one position.

i wanted to blog about how i spent my birthday but i have been spending my time on my assignments or either procrastinating even though one of 'em is due this week and the other is due next week but fear not, i have completed the one due this friday and handing it in tomorrow so i don't have to come on friday when i have no classes just to hand the damn thing in and it's worth like 5%. little but it still counts for something =D

the only reason why im blogging now at this ungodly hour is cause im hungry prolly cause i only had 2 pieces of french toast for dinner. stupid i know but i wasn't hungry then but now i am ><

anyway....my birhday. i really didn't plan on doing anything cause like really i had my mind occupied on the assignments and whatnot. everyone kept asking me what were my plans and when i said i didn't have any, all of 'em went "har really arh?" wtf =.=

mel, nyet ngoh and siaw huei, who called me (thank you!), all asked whether im going clubbing =.= okay yes i like to club but it's not open on the weekday and do i really seem like such a clubber to people? >< it's prolly cause i was dying to club when i was back in brunei and i complained to those three about it a lot so that could prolly be the reason why *shrugs*

anyway...cookie and joyy came over and bought kfc for dinner and they even had a birthday cake for me. oh! and as always mama joyy came through with a birthday card which i really like. it's not very fancy but it's a simple card but i really do like it cause it's nice la! i really wanna thank ding cause she called me during dinner to make sure i wasn't eating alone and she said if i was she would stay with me on the phone to accompany me while i eat. *cough* sweet hor?

my birthday cake! it was really good and it wasn't too sweet so it was good for me ^^ noticed how there are no candles. yeahhh i had to mimic blowing out the candles =.=

took a video on my mac while cutting the cake but i can't be bother to upload it now cause i kind of want to edit it but i will for sure post it up on my blog only even though cookie insists i upload it on facebook. no thank you unless you give me like $100.

far east movement at metro city!

i had a super awesome night yesterday partying at metro city with far east movement.

too awesome. i super love the dj they brought in from los angeles. his song selections were so good and i love how he remixed it! plus he even remixed the theme song from mario's world. it was so nice! i googled and his name is dj virman. they did introduced him to the crowd but i thought it was venom or also something similar to that.

oh one of 'em jumped into the crowd and i touched him =D to be honest i don't know their names but i googled and his name is prohgress. his stage name lah. i said i will never wash my hand but then eventually i had to lah but it's all good. someone gave their bra away to kev but then he threw it back into the crowd. haha. burn!

i took like three videos but one of 'em was like 1 second =.= and the other one has no sound and it's the better video of them too >< the sound is pretty crap and the bass is really intense but you can tell that the crowd was really hyped up. i was totally hyped up. the screaming you hear....... yeah. that's me =D

please come back to perth again! ><

the house is crawling with bugs, mostly ants. killed a spider yesterday and lots of ants. pantry full of ants. nora's drawer was filled with ants cause she left her sweets in there and the summer heat melted it. gonna clean the house tomorrow cause today is a rest day plus it's late already =D

1. i love korean food. love it. like lurrrrrrve it.

that's what i call fresh seafood. yums!

2. i dislike goody goody girls and super perky girls. i know a few of them and i prefer not to be around girls like that. if you are, please stay far far far away. not interested in talking to y'all and im sure the feeling is mutual.

3. i can like roll my tummy like a wave. it's pretty awesome actually. picked it up when i was a kid =D

4. i love working with my hands like building puzzles, cross-stitch, knitting and stuff like that.

5. im ~~pretty good~~ super good at cooking kimchi fried rice. ask joyy!

6. unlike nora, who has a major sweet tooth, i dont really like sweets except for a few exceptions like herbal jelly from easyway and snowflake and i do get the occasional craving for something sweet but most of the time i prefer savory stuff over sweets.

7. im a total klutz in the kitchen. ever since i started cooking (i.e. when i started uni), i managed to have one kitchen accident a year. nora reckons i should be banned from the kitchen. i think she is right ><

2008: i cut my finger when slicing onions. needless to say, i bled a lot. the cut was pretty deep. i know i took a photo of it but can't seem to find it.

2009: burnt my left palm when i grabbed the melting plastic edge of the spatula. the plastic was stuck to my skin and it was a bitch to remove them. it blistered pretty badly and it was so big that i couldnt close my hand. this happened during the exams and the silver lining in all of this is that i burnt my left and not right hand. it would have pretty hard to write with a huge blister in the way ><

2010: i burnt the back of my left hand (the left again. unlucky or what?) cause i spilled hot oil on it.

8. i used 2 blog lyk dis bt i guezz every1 used 2 do it bah but nw if i c ppl blog lyk dis, i get veri annoy3d. plzzzz type properly. i hav proof bt im nt gonna show u.

spent cny and valentine's day in perth on a field trip....

mum came to perth and stayed for a month. went to places that i haven't been like kings park and this harbour which i cannot recall the name now ><

became a clubbing addict and met new people. improved my alcohol tolerance and started listening more to english songs but they're mostly clubbing hits. hehe =D

went to russell peters's show in perth. laughed my ass off there.

broke up with shih ping. no regrets there.

auditioned for search for a star and got in!

modeled for cookie twice for her assignments.

became an expert on geological field trips.
Was really happy in the midst of sem 2 exams. Won't say why ^^

flew to brisbane and from there, road trip to sydney with ding and her friends. saw the sydney opera house, sydney fish market, blue mountains, bondi beach and ate lots of good food. the road trip came ended with a drama. who would have thought?

built a ~~bear~~ bunny with ding in sydney.

went to movie world and surfers pradise but they closed up the entire surfers paradise for the schoolies or leavers as we call them in perth ><

flew back to brunei and saw leo. the boy is cute but darn naughty! was i like that too as a kid? cannot imagine how my parents could tahan me. i really wanted to smack him! ><

flew to kl a day after reaching brunei for my internship but that didn't happen cause of some stuff which im not going to go through here cause it frustrates me just thinking about it.

ditched easyway's cold herbal jelly desert for snowflake. yummy~!

spent quite an uneventful christmas in brunei. got awesome presents anyway. bose earphones and an apple remote.

flew back to kl and met up with susan who i haven't seen in 2 years (I think). had a great time catching up with her! i stupidly forgot my camera >< some photos with susan. havent got them yet.

When we went out for dinner, she went and order a Grande pizza at Fratini's for herself and Fiona to share. All of us, including Ding, had no idea how big it would be. Honestly lo, we didn't even know she order a grande size pizza until it came ><

I am going back to Brunei today and I am feeling super reluctant to leave Perth.

It's not the first time I felt reluctant to leave but it's the first time I ever felt so strongly not to leave. I know why I'm reluctant to leave but it will seem really silly if I voice them out. Hehe =D

I do miss my family and friends back in Brunei but Perth has become a special place for me^^ Lots of memories in this place.

As I got off the plane at Perth, the first thing that hit me was the weather difference.

Between Perth and Brisbane, I would rather take Brisbane's weather. It is so much more milder and bearable than the weather in Perth.

I can't remember how the weather in Brunei is like but I'm pretty sure it's nothing like the weather here. I will be flying back in Brunei in a few days and I haven't pack plus I will be flying again the very next day to KL for my internship. Then I will have to unpack and pack again. Ooo~~ getting dizzy just thinking about it >.<

I am damn lucky to have gotten this internship. Before, I wouldn't have think of getting an internship during the summer vacation but ever since "that" happened, I feel like I have nothing tying me down anymore. Till now, I haven't regretted my decision for "that" and I am relieved that I went through with it.

I hate to admit this but I miss Ding >.< but it's alright, I have this photo to remember the good times we had at Sydney.

I took this physics related to geology unit this semester and I noticed something. I don't know whether it's a coincidence but I reckon people working in the physics department are darn funny! My physics teacher back in A levels was really funny too. He cracks the lamest jokes. Ding adores him to death!

I should say that I really love the unit. I love the physics! There is barely any physics in geology. Okay. That's stupid cause there is physics in geology but not like physics-physics. Gosh I miss physics >___<
